Farm Josephine's murder suspect commits suicide

The suspect in a double murder case at Farm Josephine in the Dordabis district of the |Khomas Region has committed suicide.

The Namibian Police traced the suspect in the farm killings, identified as 30-year-old Michael Simaneka Martin, to the Oshikweyo Village of Eheke in the Oshana Region.

A police spokesperson, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, says the suspect, unfortunately, turned a gun on himself and killed himself on the spot in clear view of the police and some family members.

The stolen Land Cruiser was found a few meters away from his residence.

Children of late Gedrud Rooi say police aware of father's alleged abusive nature

Children of the late Gertrud Rooi say NamPol's Gender-Based Violence Investigation Unit and the police at Dordabis are aware of their father's alleged abusive nature.

The 57-year-old Rooi and her 30-year-old daughter, Goldie Landsberg, were allegedly shot dead on Saturday at Stinkwater by Edward Rooi.

Reporter Emil Seibeb and cameraman Festus Mbendeka visited the family's home this morning, where the late Rooi's children told them of how they grew up in a toxic and violent environment with their father, who now faces murder charges.
