Self-governance, education, health, and social services are some of the key pillars in advancing the interests of the Ovaherero people, which is part of the Ovaherero traditional authority's mandate.

Professor Mutjinde Katjiua highlighted this when his faction met at Toasis in the Aminuis Constituency of the Omaheke Region during their annual New Year gathering.

Today's session did not consider any items other than the Speaker, Prof. Peter Katjavivi, his Deputy, Loide Kasingo, and Youth, Sport, and National Service Minister, Agnes Tjongarero, as well as Swapo Party Chief Whip in the House, Hamunyera Hambyuka, wishing fellow MPs the best of wishes for Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

Thursdays are normally devoted to hearing answers from members of the Executive to questions posed by opposition MPs.
