With days to go before Wednesday's Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, young eligible voters in the Karasburg East Constituency are calling on incoming leaders to make youth employment a top priority.

As voters in the Omuthiya Constituency of the Oshikoto Region prepare to cast their ballots on 26 November in the Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, many say they have high expectations and do not want their votes to be in vain.

Kunene regional electoral officer Mike Nganjone says the region is on track to host the upcoming elections, with all sensitive and non sensitive voting materials delivered in Khorixas and other constituencies in Kunene South.

The materials arrived sealed and were escorted by the Namibian Police.

The residents of Khorixas say they are ready to cast their votes despite the challenges they face in the region. 

The sensitive material arrived, and the Regional Electoral Officer for the Kunene Region, Mike Nganjone, noted that preparations are progressing smoothly ahead of both polling days.

Elphine Skrywer, Chairperson of the Maltahöhe Village Council, has urged political leaders and voters to put the needs of the community at the forefront during the upcoming elections.

The Regional Electoral Officer in the Omusati Region, Elizabeth Shiningayamwe, has announced that preparations for the upcoming elections are in full swing.

Ballot papers arrived in the town of Outapi on Thursday afternoon and will be sent out to all constituencies in the Omusati Region.

Residents of Maltahöhe in the Hardap Region are ready to vote in the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities elections.

However, they expressed concern about infighting in the village council while those at the grassroots suffer. NBC Reporter Selima Henock gave an update from the southern town.

Swapo Party President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on Namibia's young people to actively participate in strengthening the country's democracy, stressing that open dialogue, positive engagement and mutual understanding are essential to safeguarding the nation's political stability.

The Regional Electoral Officer for Oshikoto, Ester Hipangelwa, says preparations for the November Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections are progressing smoothly and are firmly on track.

Allegations of political campaigning with drought relief food as a promise were raised at Ben-Se Kamp, some 53 kilometres east of Tsumkwe, close to the Botswana border.
