President Hage Geingob has encouraged school learners to take their studies seriously, true to the saying that 'education is the greatest equaliser'.

Learners and teachers from the Oshikoto Region visited State House as part of their school tour to Windhoek.

The pupils are from Tsumeb English Medium, Ontana Combined School, and Nehale Secondary School, from grades seven to twelve.

The visit to State House saw them engage the President and senior officials from the Presidency.

As any inquisitive person would have it, they had their questions answered around nation-building, economic development, and poverty, among other pertinent matters.

President Geingob emphasised the importance of being taught through education and participating in the country's development process.

Over the years, the government has increased access to enrollment in educational institutions while continuously working towards improving quality.

Some learners expressed aspirations to serve in leadership and decision-making public offices, such as the Parliament and Presidency.

Leadership is about putting the interest of the nation above anything else, Dr. Geingob reminded the learners as he advised them to stay clear of divisions, including tribalism.
