Egypt has hailed Namibia's position in Israel's war on Gaza, which calls for an end to attacks and for Israel to refrain from engaging in provocative acts against the Palestinian people.

Namibia, just like Egypt and other African countries in particular, have been urging Israel to respect international humanitarian laws and to have greater regard for civilians, including women and children, as well as civilian infrastructure.

Portugal's outgoing Ambassador to Namibia wants the two countries to consider joint value addition to fisheries and agricultural produce.

More than 600 million Africans are said to be facing energy insecurity, despite the continent being endowed with natural resources to produce electricity.

Africans in the Diaspora urged to play role in defending continent's progress

Africans in the Diaspora have been urged to play their role in defending the continent's progress made since its first attainment of freedom more than 50 years ago.

This plea was made by President Hage Geingob as he returned to the historic Apollo Theatre in Harlem in New York 40 years later, as one of the guests during a panel discussion titled "Next Narrative Africa, the Bridge''.

This was the clarion call by President Hage Geingob during the launch of the International High-Level Panel Campaign, titled Mind the Gap: Invest in Water Raising Ambition, in a speech read on his behalf by the Minister of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform, Carl Schlettwein.
