Zambezi Governor Alufea Sampofu says Namibia, as a young nation of 34 years, needs to uphold unity and work towards economic development and progress.

Sampofu called upon the youth to use education as a tool to shape a brighter future for today's generation and those to come, and to pledge to positively contribute to the country's economic development and growth.

After gaining independence in 1975, Angola authorised PLAN to use its southern territory to launch and fight the war in Namibia in 1976. 

"We are so excited, and our hearts swell with pride and gratitude for the countless brave souls who fought relentlessly to liberate our beloved land of the brave. Our struggle for our beloved Namibia's independence was more than just a political movement; it was a battle for our stolen rights to self-determination, fairness, human dignity, and decency.
