The Speaker of the National Assembly and Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology (NUST), Professor Peter Katjavivi, officially inaugurated the NUST Luderitz Research Satellite Campus at the harbour town.

Katjavivi, at the occasion, said that the launch of the campus is a demonstration of how a public university can strategically align its programmes to national imperatives. 

The Chancellor commended NUST for opening the campus and subsequently developing short courses that will support the necessary skills required for the maximum utilisation of the green hydrogen industry.

The discovery of oil and gas and the development of green hydrogen necessitated institutions of higher learning to develop tailor-made programmes with a focus on education, research, and innovation in critical areas within the blue and green economy and oil and gas sectors.
