Freelance sign language interpreter at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation, Peter Mbwale, was buried on Saturday at Omindaba village in Omusati's Ruacana Constituency.
He worked on the news and current affairs programmes, translating spoken word into sign language to ensure that the hearing-impaired community could access vital information.
The 48-year-old Mbwale tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on the eighth of October on the C35 road between Werda and Omakange in the Kunene Region.
Reports indicate that his white Isuzu double cab collided head-on with a vehicle belonging to the Kamanjab Constituency Council's office after he hit a cow that was crossing the road.
Mbwale died on the spot, while his wife sustained critical injuries. She has since been discharged from the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital.
Mbwale is survived by his widow, Hilma Mbwale, and four children.
