An 86-year-old woman from Popa Village in the Kavango East's Mukwe Constituency was allegedly raped by a known suspect over the weekend.

It is reported that the suspect allegedly broke into her room on Friday at around midnight.

The pensioner screamed for help and was rescued by her granddaughter, who caught the suspect in the act.

According to the Police report, the suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

At Okaku in the Oshana Region, a 19-year-old man was allegedly fatally stabbed with a knife by a 15-year-old suspect.

Circumstances around the incident are sketchy.

The suspect has been taken into custody.

Meanwhile, the Police reported suicide cases involving a 49-year-old woman from Omuntele in the Oshikoto Region, a 45-year-old man from Okatope, near Onyaana in Oshikoto, and a 28-year-old man from Kalkrand in Hardap.

In all cases, no foul play is suspected.

Police also recorded two murders.

At Epako, Gobabis, a 26-year-old man was fatally stabbed during an altercation, and two suspects aged 21 and 23 have been arrested.

Other crimes include housebreakings and theft in Outjo and Otjomuise as well as stock theft cases at Koes and Coblenz.

At Oshikango, police arrested a suspect found in possession of pangolin skins valued at N$100,000.
