The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) has stepped up efforts in preparation for World Radio Day and also International Safer Internet Day.

World Radio Day is celebrated annually on 13 February, while the International Safer Internet Day is marked on 11 February.

World Radio Day is being celebrated with the theme “Radio and Climate Change,” highlighting the potential of radio to combat climate change and foster a more sustainable world.

Touch FM commemorated World Radio Day today, paying homage to the late President Hage Geingob, a staunch advocate of press freedom.

As the nation reflects on the legacy of this visionary leader, the national broadcaster's youth radio station is at the forefront of safeguarding his enduring spirit.

Radio could serve as a tool to create tension and animosity among citizens.

Therefore, there is a need for all radio personalities and the public to use the tool as a medium of communication wisely.

As World Radio Day was celebrated around the world on Monday, a local event also took place at Nbc Radio in Windhoek. 

Radio personalities in Namibia do not get the recognition they deserve.
