The bail application for one of the five Rehoboth residents accused of drug dealing and money laundering has been postponed to Monday, 29 December, due to the unavailability of the resident magistrate. 

The Rehoboth community demonstrated today, requesting the refusal of bail for Naomi Fisch and Steve Scheiders, who were arrested last Friday for allegedly dealing in narcotic drugs.

The Rehoboth Enhancement for Housing & Opportunities (REHO) Association promised to use its mandate to enhance transparency and accountability in managing the affairs of the Rehoboth Town Council.

The Rehoboth Mayor Justin Coetzee described the handing over of the Kaptein's House as a bridge between the past and the present. 

Coetzee said the Baster community built a society in Rehoboth grounded in discipline, faith, and self-governance. 

Vice President Lucia Witbooi has handed over the Kaptein's House to the Baster community in Rehoboth. 

The building served as the residence of the late Baster leader, Hans Diergaardt, who died in 1998.

The Rehoboth Town Council has named a street in Block E after Loskey ǁGaroëb, one of the town's first regional councillors.

ǁGaroëb, who became the first regional councillor of Rehoboth in 1992, served the Hardap Regional Council until 1998 and later represented the region in the National Council. 

In a display of unity and remembrance, the community of Rehoboth honoured the late President Dr. Hage Geingob by renaming the former D1210 road as Dr. Hage Geingob Drive.

This tribute marks not only President Geingob's enduring legacy but also coincides with what would have been his 84th birthday.

Rehoboth officially secured a spot as a finalist in the 2025 kykNET Kwêla as Town of the Year.

This major milestone sparked celebrations and pride across the community.

Over a hundred residents of Rehoboth Block E have benefited from the town council's ongoing title deed handover and debt write-off initiative.
