Zambezi Governor Alufea Sampofu has cautioned political parties not to exploit drought relief as a campaign tool. 

The Zambezi Region lacks the capacity and human resources to deal with gender-based violence involving victims under the age of 18.

This was revealed during the visit of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Gender Equality, Social Development, and Family Affairs at Katima Mulilo. 

The Zambezi Region has announced a major discovery of a high concentration of critical minerals that can elevate Namibia as a major supplier of minerals significant in energy transition and other enabling future technologies.

The Zambezi Region has 120 schools, of which 111 are government, while nine are privately owned. 

About 1,700 learners from seven schools and a kindergarten in the Zambezi Region benefitted from the Never Walk Alone Project over the weekend.

The learners received shoes, and for the first time since the start of the Never Walk Alone Project, 70 learners were gifted tracksuits.

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) recently held meetings in the Zambezi Region in the Linyanti and Kongola constituencies, which were addressed by the party's national chairperson, Ricky Vries.

The Swapo Party's Chairperson of Leaders Assigned to the Zambezi Region, Erastus Uutoni, addressed party members and supporters at Bitto in the Sibbinda District. 

He reminded them that the liberation struggle was won because of unity of purpose, and the enemy was defeated.

Zambezi Governor Lawrence Sampofu has called on the region's inhabitants to remain calm as they await the response of the Fifth Boundaries Delimitation and Demarcation Commission regarding their proposals.

Zambezi Governor Alufea Sampofu was among the first people to register at the Katima Mulilo UNAM campus.

Voter registration started on time without reported challenges at various registration centres in the Zambezi Region.
