The Miss Namibia Organisation has announced the top ten finalists for both Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia, revealed over the weekend.

The contestants were selected during the preliminary events. 

OKAKARARA MUNICIPALITY WRITES OFF INTEREST ON RATES AND TAXES

The Okakarara Municipality has passed a resolution to write off the interest on rates and taxes incurred by its residents.

This is to help the council continue to generate money and reconnect services.

Residents owe the council N$68 million in rates and taxes.

THREE DIE IN OMITARA–OTJINENE ROAD CRASH

Three people died in a car accident on Friday along the Omitara-Otjinene road.

They have been identified as Tjeripo Tjeripo, Vandjeka Kutuouvi; and Vezemboua Hiuii.

The deceased were travelling in a minibus that had 15 occupants and was en route from Windhoek to Otjinene.

BOTSWANA MOURNS FORMER PRESIDENT FESTUS MOGAE

Botswana has entered a three-day period of national mourning following the death of former President Festus Mogae at age 86.


President Duma Boko announced the mourning period after Mogae died at his residence in Gaborone.


Mogae served as Botswana’s third President from 1998 to 2008.
