MICT to host a three-day Progress Review Conference

As the custodian of the Nationhood and National Pride (NNP) programme, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology will host a three-day Progress Review Conference from 26–28 October 2022 at Swakopmund in the Erongo region.

MR44 dual-lane road renamed to Hifikepunye Pohamba freeway

The MR44 dual-lane road behind Dune 7 between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay has been renamed the Hifikepunye Pohamba freeway.

The road network was constructed to reduce traffic congestion between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay.

Swakopmund International Trade Expo opens

The Swakopmund International Trade Expo opened with a call on the private and public sectors in Namibia and Zambia to cooperate in order to contribute to the development of the two countries. 

The Presidents of Namibia and Zambia co-officiated the four-day event, aimed at promoting trade and investment.

Men more likely to die or get injured on national roads-MVA

74% of men have died in road accidents while 60% have been injured in the past three years on national roads.

This is according to the Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) Fund, whose Chief Executive Officer is calling on women to play a greater role in promoting road safety.
