The Swapo Party National Leader assigned to ||Kharas, Charles Mubita, has urged the elected political office bearers to deliver quality service to the electorate.

Dr Mubita made the call during the party's ||Kharas regional executive committee special meeting at Keetmanshoop. 

The newly elected Swapo Party councillors for the Walvis Bay Municipal Council and the urban and rural constituencies will prioritise the provision of land and housing, road repairs, and improved waste removal.

The Landless People Movement (LPM) and Swapo Party finished in a tie in the Keetmanshoop Local Authority elections, which leaves IPC as the kingmaker with one deciding vote.

A war veteran, retired Lieutenant Colonel Office Chisozu, from Kongola in the Zambezi Region, has died.

Chisozu died in the Katima Mulilo State Hospital on Monday, aged 90.

The Republican Party (RP) says it is not opposed to the government or the Swapo Party.
