57 mobile toilet facilities handed over at DRC

A lack of water and poor sanitation are affecting the quality of life for the less privileged residents of Swakopmund. 

This was said by the Mayor of Swakopmund, Dina Namubes during the handing over of 57 mobile toilet facilities at DRC.

Namubes says the availability of these toilets will help fight diseases and preserve the health and well-being of the residents.

"The results of these poor personal hygiene practices often lead to exposure to diseases and unwanted illnesses. Therefore, as per our mandate to provide basic services to our community."

Woermann Brock We Care Trust donate to 12 beneficiaries in need of financial assistance

In celebration of its 128 anniversary, the Woermann Brock "We Care Trust' donated N$300 000 to 12 beneficiaries in need of financial assistance.

The Trust supports communities in surrounding areas of all Woermann Brock Stores and assists organizations that actively work towards helping those in need.

The Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr. Kalumbi Shangula in his keynote address commended the supermarket for providing assistance to those who need it most.

28 beneficiaries from John Pandeni Constituency receive equipment

Twenty-eight beneficiaries from the John Pandeni Constituency received equipment and material to support their small businesses. 

The equipment and material given through the SME support programme are worth N$250 000.

Each year the Khomas Regional Council allocates N$2.5 million towards this programme in its 10 constituencies

The income-generating programmes are purposely designed and approved by the councils to assist mainly small businesses.

QKR Navachab Gold Mine hands over renovated infrastructure to Karibib Private School

The QKR Navachab Gold Mine near Karibib has handed over renovated infrastructure worth N$12 million to the Karibib Private School.

Managing Director George Botshiwe says the company will continue to support private and public schools in the area, as educating the youth is important.

QKR Navachab Gold Mine officially handed over infrastructure, including a refurbished hostel, a new dining hall, kitchen and laundry facilities at a fundraising dinner held by the Karibib Private School. 

PDM donates mattresses and tents to flood victims at Oshikango

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) President McHenry Venaani has expressed his disappointment in the government saying that it is failing to find a permanent solution to mitigate the effects of reoccurring floods in the country.

He says over the past 30 years government could have built water catchment dams to harvest flood water and to address the effects of floods.

He made these remarks when he donated mattresses and tents to the value of N$30 000 to flood victims at Oshikango in the Ohangwena Region.

Project Never Walk Alone reports donating pairs of shoes to children in five

Project Never walk alone has so far donated over 5-thousand new pairs of shoes to children in five regions.

|Khomas recently became the sixth and latest beneficiary.

The project donated 400 brand-new pairs of shoes to the Groot Aub Primary School.

The donation was made possible by the  Capricorn Foundation.

At the event, learners, among others received a pair of school shoes, socks, and basic toiletries. 

Rani Group donates 700 wheelchairs to be distributed in all regions

Ali Dharani of the Rani Group of Companies says donations should not be made in anticipation of favours but to plough back into communities.

Dharani made the remarks at the donation of 700 wheelchairs to the governor's office at Opuwo.

The 700 wheelchairs, worth N$2.5 million, will be distributed to all regions to aid those who are bedridden and in dire need of the wheelchairs. 

Last year, the Rani Group of Companies donated 350 wheelchairs.

Sachona Secondary School in Zambezi receives tech equipment from Orumana Marine Enterprises

Learners at Sachona Senior Secondary School in the Zambezi Region will now enjoy better interaction with the digital world following a donation of technology equipment by Orumana Marine Enterprises, valued at about N$100,000.

The Orumana Marine Enterprise invested in the purchase of a projector and tripod projector screen, a photocopier machine, office chairs, tiles, and a bookcase cupboard for office administration.

Amarok Club Namibia donates to healthcare organization

The Amarok Club in Namibia donated sanitary products and food items worth N$15 000 to the Hope Home-Based Health Care (HHBHC), a non-profit organization based in Tsumeb.

The organization was founded in November 2005 by philanthropist Englien Uises. It specializes in providing compassionate physical, physiological, and spiritual support and care for both patients and their families.
