Police identify remains of man in Ohangwena

Police in the Ohangwena Region have identified the remains of a man found at Oshalumbu village in the Okongo constituency as 36-year-old Nghitewa Nghiyalasha from Onamudidi village. 

20 Otjozondjupa police officers promoted

20 police officers from various stations across the Otjozondjupa Region were promoted for their commitment and hard work in the administration of law and order.

One officer was elevated to the senior inspector level, while three others were promoted to the inspector rank. 

Government assesses aftermath of fatal Mariental crash

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, said a Quantum bus was available for the Namibia Correctional Service officials who died in the Mariental accident on Saturday.

She said it remains unclear why the officers were transported in a vehicle reserved for inmates.

Police identify officer shot dead in Walvis Bay as Simasiku Matongo

Police have identified the officer who was gunned down at Walvis Bay on Wednesday as 34-year-old Simasiku Matongo.

A report released this evening indicated that Matongo was murdered in cold blood by a suspected criminal, Jacques Pienaar.

Okahandja Police Station welcomes new commander

Okahandja Police Station has a new commander, Tjarimba Mathais. This follows the retirement of David Scott, who served the community in that post for the past three years.

Mathias served in the police for 18 years.
