The late Bennett Kangumu was buried at Chisawo Village in the Zambezi Region.

Kangumu, who was the University of Namibia's Katima Mulilo campus director, died following illness.

Three of the four victims, who died from an explosion of a hand grenade almost two weeks ago at Liselo in the Zambezi Region, were laid to rest today.

The deceased are 14-year-old Yamuno Mulatehi, nine-year-old Lydia Mulatehi, and four-year-old Mulatehi Mulatehi, all siblings.

A veteran of the national liberation struggle, Jona Amunyela, was buried at Odibo in the Ohangwena Region on Friday.

He died on December 13th, at the age of 66.

Amunyela joined the Swapo Party in 1970 and went into exile four years later.

Gosbert Sikerete Mandema, the former mayor of Rundu, was buried in Rundu today.

A veteran of the Liberation Struggle, Mandema passed away in Windhoek last month at the age of 77, receiving the honor of a state funeral bestowed by President Hage Geingob.

Swapo Party veteran Jacob Nangolo, well known as "Kaherero", was buried at Omonawatjihozu Village at the ELCIN Church Cemetery in the Omusati Region.

Mourners gathered in Ongolonongeyama Village for a memorial service to pay tribute to the late Jacob Nangolo, who died on May 24.

Freedom fighter and veteran of the liberation struggle, 99-year-old Pelagia Eelu, was buried at Otshitutuma Cemetery in Oshikuku Constituency in the Omusati Region.

President  Hage Geingob conferred an official funeral on her.

The Deputy Kaptein of the |Hai-|Khaua clan and liberation struggle stalwart, Stephanus Goliath, has been buried at his ancestral village of Berseba in the ||Kharas Region. 

Hundreds of mourners flocked to Berseba village to pay their last respect at the state funeral service. 

The late Police Attaché to South Africa, Commissioner Christopher Nakanyala was buried at Uuyoka-Omulondo in the Oshikoto Region. 

The 59-year-old Nakanyala died in Pretoria last week.  

President Hage Geingob has described Hilde Kapitaholo Amunyela Shimweetheleni, a veteran of the liberation struggle, as a fearless woman and unwavering revolutionary.

The late Shimwetheleni was buried at the Omungulu-gwombashe memorial site in the Omusati Region.

One of Namibia's liberation icons, the late Viongeka Uazohini Tjisuta, was buried near Ongongo Village in the Opuwo Rural Constituency, Kunene Region.  

Tjisuta died aged 74.
