The nbc's Board Chairman, Lazarus Jacobs says it is important for the corporation to own Miss Namibia as a subsidiary where every Namibian can take ownership.  
He says Miss Namibia is not just a pageant, but an Ambassador.

Jacobs paid tribute to Connie Maritz who carried and laid the foundation of the Miss Namibia brand over the years, saying it was not an easy task.

Debmarine Namibia has fronted N$2.5 million in sponsoring the organization going forward.

The nbc's Board Chairperson, Lazarus Jacobs says, the corporation has been at the forefront of supporting young people in furthering their career in broadcasting, despite opposite views by some.

Lazarus Jacobs made these remarks at the premiere of 14 short films produced in partnership with 'No Plot Productions' .

Narrating his life story on how the nbc paved way for his career, Jacobs says, opportunity still stands as the broadcaster has launched the careers of many through exposure and the strengthening of skills in the industry.

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) continues to promote local content as it premiered 14 short films in partnership with 'No Plot Productions'.

nbc's Director General, Stanley Similo, expressed pride in the project while calling on the business community to support the local film industry.

Similo says this will assist in creating rich content that will pave the way for Namibian films to be showcased on different platforms globally and, in turn, grow the country's filmmaking industry.

Namibians encouraged to vote for Cassia Sharpley to be among the Miss Universe semi-finalists

Miss Namibia Cassia Sharpley left last week to represent Namibia at Miss Universe in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States.

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation's Chairperson, Lazarus Jacobs, urged the public to vote for Sharpley to be among the semi-finalists of the Miss Universe pageant.

Sharpley was selected to represent Namibia at the 71st Miss Universe pageant, set to take place on January 14.

NBC Board Chairperson dismayed over release of a financial audit report

The NBC Board Chairperson Lazarus Jacobs has expressed dismay over the release of a financial audit report involving the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation. A local newspaper made it available to the public this week, while the document had not previously been shared with the national broadcaster. 

The audited financial report was published under the headline:  "NBC's accumulated losses at one-comma-six billion dollars".
