The Ovambenderu Traditional Authority at Omauezonjanda in the Omaheke Region has complained about the delay of the envisaged traditional office that was planned to be built at their headquarters.
The leaders shared this during the visit by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba to Epukiro.
Speaking at Omauezonjanda, Senior Traditional Councillor Gerson Katjirua said the community is still waiting for the completion of the traditional office as promised by the government.
Katjirua added that the area was fenced off in 2021 in preparation for the construction of the office.
Once completed, the office will assist with proper planning for the community's development.
Ombara Eben Tjozohongo || Nguvauva reminded Vice President Nangolo Mbumba about the possible looming drought in the area, water scarcity, and bad road conditions as some of the challenges facing the inhabitants.
In response, Mbumba said consultations on the looming drought are underway between the stakeholders and the Office of the Prime Minister following a rapid assessment in the Omaheke Region.
Mbumba also promised to take up the matter of the construction of the Ovambenderu Traditional Authority headquarters as a matter of urgency.
