Kunene expresses growth ambitions

Kunene Regional Governor Marius Sheya has presented Vice President Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah with a briefing note detailing the goals the Regional Council hopes to achieve.

These range from road upgrades to drought relief assistance and the proclamation of the villages of Kamanjab, Torra Bay, and Terrace Bay to municipalities.

The note was presented during Nandi-Ndaitwah's regional visit, which started at Outjo in the presence of cabinet ministers, regional and local authority councillors, and other stakeholders.

Public and private sectors urged to provide employment to youth

Vice President Nangolo Mbumba is actively calling on both the public and private sectors to open up employment avenues for 2,989 graduates from the National Youth Service (NYS).

This appeal was emphasised in a statement delivered by the Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero, on his behalf at the pass-out parade of the 14th intake of National Service Training in Henties Bay.

Mbumba says the government recognises the plight of the youth and the many challenges they face, such as a lack of skills and high unemployment.

Swapo members urged to remain united

Mbumba turned 82 today.

Dr. Geingob says in a statement that Mbumba's dedication to service and tireless commitment to the betterment of Namibia have truly made a difference in the lives of the people.

Dr. Geingob says the nation is forever grateful for the invaluable contributions of the Vice President.

Swapo Party members called to unite

The Swapo Party Vice President has called for unity among party members, regardless of which candidate they supported during last year's Congress.

Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah made the call at a party rally held in Rehoboth to formally communicate the outcomes of the 7th Swapo Party Congress.

During the event, Nandi-Ndaitwah introduced the top three leaders of the party structure: the Vice President, Secretary General, and Deputy Secretary General.

She also introduced the members of the Central Committee and the Politburo.

Ovambenderu Traditional Authority unhappy with delay of envisaged traditional office

The Ovambenderu Traditional Authority at Omauezonjanda in the Omaheke Region has complained about the delay of the envisaged traditional office that was planned to be built at their headquarters.

The leaders shared this during the visit by Vice President Nangolo Mbumba to Epukiro.

Speaking at Omauezonjanda, Senior Traditional Councillor Gerson Katjirua said the community is still waiting for the completion of the traditional office as promised by the government.

Katjirua added that the area was fenced off in 2021 in preparation for the construction of the office.
