The acting Education Director in the Kavango East Region says all credit goes to the teachers and school management of the region.

Christine Shilima was responding to the region's examination results.

When it comes to the top 20 candidates with the best performance in six subjects at the Ordinary Level, 12 of those candidates are learners from schools in Kavango East.

The Rukonga Vision School in particular dominated the list, including scooping the first spot.

The school once again claimed first place in the Top 10 public schools' Ordinary Level.

Ndama Secondary School and Matumbo Ribebe also joined Rukonga Vision School, taking fourth and 10th place, respectively.

When it comes to the top 10 private schools in the country, Kavango East's St. Boniface College came in fourth.

In 2022, Kavango East ranked number one regionally at the Ordinary Level, but the latest exams saw them give up their top spot to |Khomas and end up settling for second place instead.

Regarding public schools at the Advanced Subsidiary Level, Kavango East ranked first, seventh, and eighth.

St. Boniface College took the second position when it came to private schools at the Advanced Subsidiary Level.

The national ranking of all schools at the Advanced Subsidiary Level saw Kavango East coming in second with St. Boniface College, followed by Rukonga Vision School at number three.

Out of the top twenty performers for the 2023 Advanced Subsidiary Level exams, Kavango East took five spots, with Titus Shatimwene from Rukonga Vision School coming in at number two.

Acting Education Director in Kavango East, Shilima, says all credit goes to those who were working closely with the learners.

"The teachers, I honestly do appreciate your work and that each and every learner received your attention. As the acting director, I am just an administrator. The actual people who deserve this profound credit are you, the teachers, and the entire school management. I therefore conclude by expressing my deepest and most profound appreciation, and may we continue improving the performance of the learners in this region for the year 2024."
