A number of schools across the country need renovations, but the government, however, says it cannot do it alone.

Calling for a joint effort, the Executive Director of the Ministry of Education, Sanet Steenkamp, made the appeal during the handover ceremony of the renovated Eros Girls school hostel.

To complement the government's efforts, Footsteps Africa renovated the 59-year-old Eros Girls School's hostel at a cost of N$1 million.

The principal of Eros Girls School, Emilie Haipinge, also lauded Footsteps Africa for the gesture, adding that they need more than just renovations such as the painting of the hostel and other improvements.

Founder of Footsteps for Africa Austin Cameron says renovating the Eros hostel is a way to boost children's lives.
Cameron believes there is no greater joy than helping someone.

The school was built by the Ministry of Agriculture for girls who have learning difficulties, and it offers vocational training, hospitality, business services, hairdressing, and office duties.
