At the Swapo Star rally at Nkurenkuru, party Vice President and presidential candidate, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, said the party will prioritise agriculture, mining, and tourism sectors in Kavango West.
She said space has already been designated for a lodge to attract tourists within the Mangetti National Park, a project that will create jobs.
She also added that the Swapo Party-led government has brought various developments to Kavango West, including network coverage, proper road infrastructure, schools, and health centres.
Nandi-Ndaitwah said the party's manifesto is focused on taking Namibians out of poverty.
She also touched on the education sector, particularly focusing on the teachers, saying if elected into power, the party would improve teacher benefits like transport and housing allowance.
Swapo's vice president also emphasised the importance of green schemes, saying they are the backbone of Namibia's economy.
Efforts like allocating more land to already existing green schemes are also on the cards.
Access to clean, drinking water, especially in rural areas, will also be prioritised.
She also touched on the provision of electricity, saying Kavango West will not be left in the dark as there are ongoing efforts to electrify the region.
Regarding road networks, Nandi-Ndaitwah told Swapo supporters that the party is already in the process of completing various road projects, so the electorate should give them an opportunity to continue with their projects already underway.
She also promised that the party would improve on social grants, create jobs for the youth, and invest in sports and creative arts.
