Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare attended a Sunday service at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia (ELCIN) in Nkurenkuru, where he received blessings and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation.

During his address to the congregation, Dr. Ngurare shared his appreciation for being able to attend church with some of his former teachers.

The Prime Minister encouraged parents to raise their children with strong moral values to become responsible members of society.

He highlighted the importance of family and faith in shaping future generations.

After his address, the congregation presented Christian symbols such as a Bible and a hymn book to the Prime Minister as a sign of wisdom and well wishes in leadership.

The premier emphasised the church's historic role in Namibia's independence and called for continued cooperation between the church and the government.

"During the liberation struggle, the church played a pivotal role. It was in the church that the real mobilisation took place. The pastors, especially the African pastors, are inescapable links or breaks that laid the foundations of our independence. As the church played a pivotal role yesterday, we must not ignore it today."

As Namibians commemorated Cassinga Day, in honour of those whose blood was shed for Namibia's freedom, Dr. Ngurare emphasised the importance of forgiveness towards those who violated human rights.

He urged Namibians to preserve their history for future generations.
