High Court Judge Marlize du Plessis has dismissed an application by Fishrot accused Sacky Shanghala for leave to appeal to the Supreme Court.
Judge Du Plessis ruled that Shanghala failed to present exceptional circumstances that would justify granting leave to appeal.
The application sought to challenge her earlier decision in which she granted him only partial relief.
In her ruling, the judge said she had issued eight separate orders in the earlier matter, but Shanghala’s application did not specify which of those orders he intended to appeal against.
Before striking the application from the roll, Judge Du Plessis also noted that the filing did not comply with certain legal requirements.
Shanghala, a former Minister of Justice, is among several accused persons facing charges related to the Fishrot corruption case.
