Today, Namibia celebrates a remarkable woman whose life has been defined by service, resilience, and leadership.

Vice President Lucia Witbooi turns 65 today, a milestone that has not gone unnoticed at the highest office.

In a statement President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah praised Vice President Lucia Witbooi as one of Namibia's respected women, whose journey continues to inspire the nation.

Witbooi was born in Gibeon Village, a woman who rose to leadership through years of dedication and unwavering commitment to the Namibian people.

From her early involvement in the country's liberation struggle to her continued work in government, she has remained faithful in shaping the country.

Today Witbooi stands as Namibia's second female vice president, a symbol of progress and a beacon of hope, especially to the people and girls.

President Nandi-Ndaitwah outlined Witbooi's humility, compassion and strong sense of duty, describing her learning as one rooted in service.

Over the years, Nandi-Ndaitwah says Witbooi has championed and ensured that no one is left behind, as her life continues to inspire many Namibians.

As Namibia marks this special day, many are not only celebrating her birthday but also reflecting on her dedication to uplifting others, as she has worked to empower and uplift women, support inclusion of minority communities, and focus on improving the lives of vulnerable people.
