The NBC's Director General, Menesia Muinjo, says the national broadcaster will have to find ways to manage operations and improve service as a result of reduced funding.

Muinjo was speaking at a staff meeting.

"What is different because we have been generating 100 million Yes, the N$100 million allocated is primarily for operations, and it is insufficient. You had N$60 million, which has been cut, so we have to find a way. We have to do something outside the norm, because if we agree just to say, 'Let's stay with the N$100 million', we won't even do what we want to do here for the employees. The government already had competing interests."

She adds that available resources should be managed wisely, balanced with funding, and focused on motivating employees to be productive, creative, and committed to improving results.

"We have to ensure that we manage the resources that we have for the state, not enough, and the ones that our commercial team brings on board. But really, how do we balance that? How do we inspire? My focus is really to ensure that we have a happy employee who can increase productivity and who is ready to come up with creative ideas so that we can lead."

During the staff meeting, Muinjo acknowledged Constansia Ramatekoane's 38 years of service as she prepares to leave the corporation for retirement.
