nbc Molelo radio drama project expected to air between November and December

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) has started working on the Molelo Radio Drama project, which is targeting all eleven radio services. 

The project is a result of the scientific audience research that was recently carried out by the broadcaster to determine the audience.

This week, the nbc is hosting a workshop session for producers, writers, and drama experts that is currently underway in Windhoek.

The drama project, which targets young people, will be broadcast in various languages.

The nbc bids farewell to three of its structural pillars

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) reaches over 1.6 million people through its television, radio, and online services, with its main aim being to create high-quality content.

This was said by the Chief News and Programming Officer of the nbc, Menesia Muinjo, as the corporation bid farewell to three of its structural pillars, who are headed for retirement.

The three retirees—Lutz Von Dewit, Petronella-Aina Shipanga, and Anna ||Kaoseb—have worked for the corporation for over 35 years.

Government communication officers move to full implementation as gatekeepers

Following the recent signing of the Access to Information Act by President Hage Geingob, government communication officers are convening a week-long meeting towards moving to full implementation, as gatekeepers of their respective ministries and institutions.

The workshop was officially opened by Information and Communication Technology Minister, Peya Mushelenga.

Dr Mushelenga noted that the Access to Information Act is an achievement signifying Government's commitment to democracy and transparency in management and information dissemination.

NORED enters 3 year agreement with nbc

In its efforts to address challenges relating to the provision of electricity services in the northern parts of Namibia, electricity supplier, Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (NORED), has entered into a three-year agreement with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc).

 Acting Chief Executive Officer of NORED, Toivo Shovaleka, says there is a lack of knowledge regarding the electricity industry among the public.

nbc and CNBC Africa sign content sharing MoU

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (nbc) and CNBC Africa signed a memorandum of understanding in Sandton, South Africa. 

The MoU was signed by nbc Director-General Stanley Similo and Afric Business News (ABN) Managing Editor Roberta Naicker, who described the agreement as a new era of official partnership between the two media institutions. 

ABN is the company that manages the CNBC Africa channel on DSTV, which is broadcast across Africa. 

IUM launches Namibia Knowledge Management Forum

The International University of Management recently launched the Namibia Knowledge Management Forum.

This comes after the university started offering a postgraduate diploma and a Master of Science in Knowledge Management.

Knowledge management is a concept in which a company consciously and comprehensively gathers, shares, and analyzes its knowledge in terms of resources, documents, and people's skills.
