The Swapo Party branch in Walvis Bay has dismissed allegations that its district office was involved in compiling or managing the list of beneficiaries for the Farm 37 housing project.

In a statement, Walvis Bay District Coordinator Patrick Bathromeus described a widely circulated social media video as misinformation aimed at creating confusion and gaining political relevance.

The video claims the Farm 37 beneficiaries list was prepared at the Swapo Party district office and gives priority to residents from the Sea Point informal settlement.

The party stated that its district office lacks the legal authority to manage municipal housing issues or allocate land, as these responsibilities rest solely with the Walvis Bay municipality and other government bodies.

"Therefore, the community of Walvis Bay should take note that the SwapoParty District Office deals exclusively with Swapo administrative matters – nothing more and nothing less. It does not administer municipal housing matters. Therefore, there is no reason whatsoever why a municipal housing beneficiary's list would be managed through a Swapo Party district office. The district coordinator addressing you today is not an employee of the Walvis Bay Municipality and has no mandate to administer or manage housing matters."

The party challenged anyone with evidence that housing beneficiaries were registered through its office or officials to make that information public.
