The Mariental Magistrate's Court has granted ||Kharas Regional Council Chairperson Joseph Isaack bail of N$2000.

This follows his arrest on Thursday in connection with the fatal accident that claimed the life of Cornelia Veron Cloete.

Three other people were also seriously injured in the fatal accident.

Following his arrest, Isaack made a brief appearance in the Mariental Magistrate's Court on charges of reckless and negligent driving and culpable homicide.

Isaack was not asked to plead, and Magistrate llge Rheent granted him bail of N$2000.

His case was postponed until March 29 of next year to allow for additional police investigations.

It is alleged that he hit a Toyota Passo vehicle from the back, causing its driver to lose control and causing it to overturn.

The accident occurred about 35 kilometers outside Mariental on the Mariental/Kalkrand B1 Highway.
