President Hage Geingob has reminded Cabinet Ministers that being a member of the Executive should not be about personal interests or those of close friends and associates.
Dr. Geingob said this as he opened the first Cabinet meeting at State House chambers.
The President says the only priority for Cabinet members should be to ensure that the needs of people are met as they have been voted to serve.
The President directed Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila to regularly follow up with the Ministers and monitor progress regarding the implementation of development programmes.
This, Geingob emphasized, should be done alongside Secretary to Cabinet, Dr. George Simataa as well as the Executive Directors, and report any activity or lack of progress directly to him.
