Sale of alcohol prohibited on Sunday

UPDATE | Alcohol sales are strictly prohibited this Sunday.

The Police Spokesperson and Deputy Commissioner, Kauna Shikwambi, has issued a clear directive that all liquor outlets must remain closed. 

On Saturday, however, these outlets may operate but must strictly adhere to the conditions stipulated in their liquor licences.

37 tenants at a Windhoek salon are left stranded following the sudden closure of their workstations.

What appear to be unresolved management matters have left renters saddened by the abrupt closure of the salon where they worked for years.

They woke up to a message informing them to collect their belongings without notice.

Terming the act as unfair, the 37 tenants are left with many unanswered questions, mainly where to go and how to survive amid the rising inflation and unemployment rate.

Kabbe residents appeal for re-opening of Luhonono immigration office

The residents of Kabbe North and South Constituencies in the Zambezi Region are worried about the closure of the immigration office at Luhonono, which has been closed since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the country in 2020.

The residents of the two Kabbe Constituencies mainly from Luhonono, Nankuntwe, Nsundwa Namiyundu Muzii, and Mpukano say the closure of the border has had a negative impact on them. 

The challenges include facing arrest in Zambia when they cross illegally to go buy food because it is cheaper to buy in Zambia than travelling to Katima Mulilo.

Grout Aub residents call for closure of two scrapyards in settlement

The residents of Grout Aub in the Windhoek Rural Constituency are calling for the closure of one of the two scrapyards at the settlement

During a community and police meeting at Groot Aub recently, the residents accused the scrapyard dealers of buying stolen items thereby promoting crime.

Some community members accused one of the scrapyard owner Hans Kauffman of buying goods without any establishing where they come from.
