The Omaheke Region has made some strides in terms of economic advancement, social progression, and human capital development despite challenges.

This was stated during the governor's State of the Region Address.

Omaheke farmers supply milk to Gobabis soup kitchen

The Office of the Omaheke Governor and some local farmers are working together to supply a soup kitchen at Gobabis with milk three times a day.

The soup kitchen feeds vulnerable children, and the supply of milk will help to curb malnutrition.

Vaccination Campaign in Omaheke

The Ministry of Health and Social Services in the Omaheke Region and the World Health Organisation carried out a weeklong vaccination campaign on children under the age of five, concurrently with cervical cancer screening. 

The outreach project mostly targeted rural dwellers.

Otjinene mourns traditional leader Usiel Kambirongo

The Otjinene community has lost a stalwart traditional leader and member of the Senior Traditional Council of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority, Usiel Kambirongo.

The 82-year-old Kambirongo died on the 5th of August after battling with a long illness.

Residents of Omaheke's Ovinjuru village champion own development

Omaheke Governor, Pijoo Nganate, is pleased with efforts being made by the residents of Ovinjuru Village in Epukiro, including the set up of modern infrastructure for a preprimary school, an adult education centre, and the community garden project.
