Stakeholders and farming communities in the Omaheke Region are on a two-day seminar deliberating on the effects of climate change that led to recurring drought.

The Otjombinde Education Forum in the Omaheke Region, with the assistance of local teachers, spent two weeks with a group of Grade 11 learners from different schools within the constituency and other regions, preparing them for the national examination.

Churches have been encouraged to actively promote peace, foster a sense of belonging, and engage young people in community development efforts. 

This call was made by Pastor Lopang Olobilwe of St. Faith Healing Church, located in Corridor 13, Omaheke.

Resettled farmers in Boomlager, Okorukambe Constituency, are grappling with a severe water shortage after their borehole dried up years ago. Residents are forced to travel long distances to fetch water from nearby farms.

The National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) Gobabis Municipality Councillor, Elvire Theron, has resigned with immediate effect.

This was confirmed by the town mayor, Melba Tjozongoro.

Tjozongoro says Theron sent a letter of resignation to the Chief Executive Officer.
