The Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security plans to use N$8.1 billion to respond to present demands while building a stronger system for the future.

The Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, has commended staff members for a job well done but said there are still serious issues that need to be addressed, including the unacceptable behaviour of some staff.

Zambia's Department of Immigration apprehended 25 suspected illegal immigrants in two separate operations last week.

On Friday 14 Ethiopian nationals were apprehended in a suspected smuggling case at a village, while one individual remains unaccounted for.
