Traffic officials in the Zambezi Region are cautioning holidaymakers about road rage due to congestion in Katima Mulilo.

Katima Mulilo police are investigating a baby dumping case after a newborn girl was found at the entrance of the Katima Mulilo State Hospital administration block on Sunday evening.

A hospital staff member and security guard, alerted by her cries, discovered the baby wrapped in a blanket.

The Katima Mulilo Town Council has officially been handed back to its elected leadership after several months under ministerial administration.

The newly appointed Human Resource Manager for the Katima Mulilo Town Council, Albert Sibeya, appeared in court today following his arrest early Wednesday morning at the Katima Mulilo checkpoint in the Liselo area.

A rainstorm left a trail of destruction in its wake, damaging houses and structures and uprooting trees in Katima Mulilo and the surrounding areas.

The storm that hit on Tuesday caused widespread damage to homes in Mafuta, Namalubi, and Lisikili.

Residents of the Katima Mulilo Extension 27 and those of Choto Extensions Seven and Eight in the Zambezi Region who have been living without electricity will soon have their houses electrified.

The Chief Executive Officer of the Katima Mulilo Town Council, Raphael Liswaniso, has been suspended indefinitely and without salary or benefits, with all council properties withdrawn except for a cellphone.
