Female entrepreneurs successfully graduate from "She ReBuilds the World" program

Businesswomen from Namibia, Zambia, and Latvia have been awarded certificates after completing an entrepreneurship programme.

The programme, conducted under the theme "She Rebuilds the World," aimed to empower and support women in their entrepreneurial endeavours.

The four-month online programme was attended by new and aspiring female entrepreneurs and facilitated by Riga Business School.

In Namibia, the graduation ceremony took place at the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).

Over 2,000 students graduate from NUST

More than 2,000 students graduated from the Namibian University of Science and Technology.

The graduates include two inmates from the Namibian Correctional Facility who obtained a Bachelor in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and 127 foreign students from Angola, Italy and Nigeria.
 
137 received certificates, 210 Diplomas, 599 obtained Bachelor's Degrees, 295 Honors Degrees and 223 Postgraduate diplomas.

The students obtained qualifications in Tourism, Communication, Business Management, and Criminal Justice.

Recent graduates entering a world of constant change and uncertainty

The Deputy Governor of the Bank of Namibia, Ebson Uanguta says recent graduates are entering a world of constant change and uncertainty, and they need to swiftly succeed in that environment. 

Uanguta was addressing Namibian College of Open Learning graduates in Windhoek. 

It was a jovial affair as parents and loved ones celebrated the academic achievements of 537 graduates at NAMCOL. 

The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank told the graduates they must have a hunger to succeed if they want to make it in the forever-changing world of work.  

Namibia's development rooted in the agricultural sector

The development of Namibia is deeply rooted in the agricultural sector.

90% of land is suitable for livestock farming and a large proportion of the country's rural population depends on this activity for food security.

Speaking at the UNAM's graduation ceremony, its Vice-Chancellor Professor Kenneth Matengu noted that it is important to take care of animals and ensure their health and well-being.

UNAM hosts 34 veterinary scientists, scholars, and professors.

252 students graduates from UNAM

252 students graduated from the School of Education at the University of Namibia (UNAM) in Windhoek.

The graduates received diplomas and degrees in lifelong learning, community education, educational management and leadership, and junior primary education.

The graduates were encouraged to be job creators instead of job seekers.

UNAM's Acting Chancellor, Professor Frednard Gideon, urged the graduates to help solve challenges such as factors that prevent children from accessing quality education, poverty, gender disparity, and disability.

Lack of male role models contribute to boys underperforming in education

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Namibia Professor Kenneth Matengu pointed out that a lack of male role models is one of the contributing factors to boys underperforming in education.

Professor Matengu was speaking at the Rundu Campus graduation ceremony.

Of the more than 580 students who graduated from the School of Nursing, Education and Commerce at the Rundu Campus, 66% are female.

19 students graduates from Heritage Management Institute in Windhoek

Nineteen students were awarded a national vocational certificate in community counseling services at the Heritage Management Institute in Windhoek.

The graduates were encouraged to carry out their duties of caring for their patients and act in their best interest, protecting their rights and confidentiality.

The founder and director of the Heritage Management Institute, Lovisa Uukelo, wished the graduates well on their new journey.

RVTC graduates called to take part in new economic sectors

The Minister of Higher Education, Training and Innovation, Dr Itah Kandjii-Murangi, has called on graduates of the Rundu Vocational Training Center (RVTC)  to target opportunities in the new economic sectors Namibia is developing. 

Her speech was read by the Executive Director, Dr Alfred Van Kent.

More than 500 trainees received certificates in various vocational courses.
