NEEF Leader Kalimbo Iipumbu calls for responsible use of power for national prosperity

The leader of the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters' (NEEF), Kalimbo Iipumbu, who is also the headman of Epyenene village, urged those in positions of power to use them for the prosperity of the country and its people.

Iipumbu made these remarks during the country's 34th Independence anniversary celebration at Epyenene village. 

Celebrating Independence Day at Epyenene has been a tradition since 1990, when the late Patrick Shoopala, who was the headman then, allowed residents to watch celebrations on a black-and-white TV under a tree. 

NEFF leadership restrained from engaging with a host of retailers

The High Court has cemented a significant ruling, finalising an order that specifically prohibits the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF), along with its President, Deputy President Kalimbo Iipumbu, and NEFF member Michael Amushelelo, from participating in any unlawful activities at Rani Traders and several other retail outlets.

This decision by Judge Shafimane Ueitele follows an interim order issued on December 22nd last year and was ultimately finalised last Friday.

Rani suspends 50 employees over protest

Rani Group employees who recently participated in a demonstration spearheaded by the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters at Oshakati have been suspended. 

Employees were demanding the abolishment of the labour hire contract system. 

The protestors presented a petition highlighting several concerns, including the reduction of salaries by half when employees allegedly take leave. 

Additionally, they expressed dissatisfaction with the working conditions and claimed intimidation when airing concerns.

NEFF wants youth to benefit from Governmental Objective Fishing Quota

The Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) want young people at Walvis Bay to benefit from jobs through the Governmental Objective Fishing Quota.

The party mobilized jobless youth to petition the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

A group of young and unemployed joined the march organized by NEEF.

The demonstrators are demanding work in the fishing industry, saying they have the necessary skills to work in the sector.

NEEF unemployment protest denied

The Police Chief, Lieutenant General Joseph Shikongo, has denied a request by the Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) to stage a nationwide protest against high unemployment in the country on Independence Day tomorrow.

NEFF Commissar Michael Amushelelo says the aim of the protest is to put pressure on lawmakers to act with urgency and address the growing number of unemployed people in the country.

Whipping for loans game was humiliating- Petroport Kavango Service Station employees

The victims of the alleged 'whipping for loans game say they had to keep up pretense to put food on the table, though it was humiliating.

The now, former employees say what started as a soft game later turned into serious spankings with sticks.
They spoke to nbc News during the demonstration led by Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters (NEFF) against Petroport Kavango Service Station's owner Mike Du Preez.

River Side Total Service employees in Eros down tools momentarily

Employees at the River Side Total Service in Eros, Windhoek, momentarily downed tools this morning.

The employees are disgruntled, saying the owner is not paying their salaries on time.

The River Side Total Service Station is strategically located in Eros and, in addition, operates a car wash and a kiosk.

The workers claim that the business makes a large profit, with fuel restocked twice a week, yet the employees allege that they are underpaid.

Michael Amushelelo quits activism

After a short stint in activism, Michael Amushelelo has called it quits.

"I hereby inform the public that I am moving away from the activism of being confrontational, shutting down companies and so forth,,"  said the former activist.
 
Amushelelo says he will redirect his energy and time to educating people to fight for themselves. This, he says, will have a more powerful impact.
