Namibia has officially taken over the rotating chairmanship of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in sport with Botswana for the next two years.

The handover ceremony took place in Gaborone, Botswana earlier this week, marking the beginning of Namibia's leadership in this cooperative agreement.

The MOU, signed in 2021, serves as a collaboration framework between the national sport commissions of Namibia and Botswana, focusing on sport development.

Over the past two years, significant progress has been made in advancing the objectives outlined in the agreement.

Freddy Mwiya, Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sports Commission, expressed his appreciation for the accomplishments achieved during this period.

The support provided by the Minister of Sport, Youth, and National Service, Agnes Tjongarero, was acknowledged and applauded for its crucial role in facilitating the successful implementation of the MOU.

With the guidance and backing of the Minister, Namibia is well-positioned to continue promoting sport development in both countries.

The assumption of the chairmanship by Namibia signifies the commitment of both nations to strengthen their cooperation in the field of sport.
