The homeless community residing at the Khomasdal Stadium is currently facing a dire situation as their tents have been destroyed by the heavy rains received in the capital since Thursday.
The residents sheltered at this stadium have been here since the outbreak of COVID-19 and have expressed despair, as they have no dry place to sleep and the tents are flooded.
Some voiced frustration, noting they had participated in elections but had seen little change in their living conditions.
The rainy season poses significant challenges for this particular community, and they frequently wake up in soaked blankets, which could lead to illnesses, especially among children.
They are now appealing for improved shelter and sanitation, saying their current living conditions severely affect their health.
