The Okakarara Vocational Training Centre (OVTC) has introduced a bridging course to accommodate more trainees.

More than 200 people have enrolled at the VTC through the newly introduced course.

OVCT held an official opening of the 2025 training calendar on Friday.

The importance of vocational training in empowering Namibia's workforce cannot be overemphasised.

However, some people who are interested in and need skills to contribute to the workforce do not meet VTC's requirements.

It is against this background that the OVTC introduced a bridging course.

After completing the bridging course, full-time admission to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) awaits the trainees.

The course will accommodate anyone who can read and write and do basic mathematics.

Otjozondjupa Governor James Uerikua motivated trainees to be proud of making it into the TVET sector.

458 trainees have enrolled at the Okakarara Vocational Training Centre for different trade areas for level one to level four.

The centre recently received reaccreditation for all the programmes offered while extending its scope.
