Zambia's President Hakainde Hichilema has launched the African Union's Champion's Report on Ending Child Marriage and the Spotlight Initiative Africa Regional Programme.

The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Emma Kantema, visited the children and family of the late Rachel Simasiku, a recent victim of gender-based violence (GBV) who was buried last weekend in Katima Mulilo. 

Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare Emma Kantema has cautioned that Gender-Based Violence (GBV) issues should not be regarded as women's issues but must rather be seen as societal challenges.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has officially launched the Africa Educates Her Campaign, under the theme "Keep girls in school, empower their future".

The 25th anniversary commemoration of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325, held in Windhoek, reaffirms Namibia's continued leadership in promoting women's participation in peace and security.

The Ministry of Gender Equality and Child Welfare has officially launched its strategic plan for the period 2025 to 2030.

This plan is designed to advance equal opportunities for women and men, as well as for girls and boys, while strengthening child protection services.

The Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Emma Kantema, said the ministry is actively making efforts to support women through various programmes such as income-generating activities and capacity-building initiatives.
