nbc's Board Chairperson Lazarus Jacobs and Director General Stanley Similo informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Human Recourses that the nbc could have handled the employees' strike differently.

Similo together with his management, accompanied by members of the corporation's board, made their second appearance before the committee.

In 2021, nbc employees went on a nationwide strike, demanding an 8% salary increment and for all workers on one-month contracts to be employed on a full-time basis.

Contrary to media reports, the Swapo Party Youth League Secretary, Ephraim Nekongo, said the Seventh SPYL Congress was a success.

Nekongo said the congress not only focused on elections but also deliberated on issues of national importance and passed resolutions for implementation.

The Seventh Congress of the Swapo Party Youth League came up with 96 resolutions to be implemented over the next five years.

The Swapo Party Youth League Secretary, Ephraim Nekongo, has called on public servants to deliver without compromise.

He said it is about time the electorate gets the service they deserve and that political supremacy calls their line ministries and agencies to order.

The SPYL leader also expressed disappointment over incomplete and abandoned government projects that have the potential to contribute to food security and employment.
