NHE builds 516 houses during 2023/2024 financial year

The demand for affordable housing remains high, with many families still relying on rentals or living in informal settlements lacking basic services.

The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) and the Development Workshop Namibia (DWN) Trust will embark on servicing affordable plots for low-income earners in the informal settlements.

The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Windhoek. 

Okahandja municipality launches key projects to enhance service delivery

Swakopmund Municipality, NHE pave way for decent housing

The Swakopmund Municipality has signed an agreement with the National Housing Enterprise (NHE) for housing provision.

Last year, about 805 residents from Swakopmund's DRC informal settlement received free plots from the municipality to construct brick houses and apply for electricity connections.

NHE constructing houses in five towns

The National Housing Enterprise (NHE) is currently constructing 65 houses at Gobabis, 50 at Omuthiya, 70 at Okahao, 33 at Tsandi, and 24 at Ondangwa.

The houses will be constructed predominantly through phase 2 of the NHE’s turnkey construction model (RFP) and are expected to cost N$75 million.
