Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has urged state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to develop impactful programmes aimed at addressing social and economic challenges.

Nandi-Ndaitwah made these remarks during her address at the gala dinner of the Public Enterprises CEO's Forum held in Grootfontein.

In her address, Nandi-Ndaitwah expressed her appreciation for the theme of effective corporate governance in public enterprises. She spoke highly of the importance of strong governance practises within these entities.

Nandi-Ndaitwah also emphasised the significance of agriculture and the need for comprehensive programmes that can effectively address the challenges faced by many Namibians. She stressed the importance of the agricultural sector and highlighted the role that SOEs should play in supporting and promoting it.

Fluksman Samuehl, the interim chairperson of the CEO's Forum, also stressed the importance of interaction among stakeholders in order to find common ground on issues of national interest.
