Police in Katima Mulilo are investigating a disturbing domestic murder after Nicholet Sililo was found dead this morning in her home at the New Cowboy Compound, which she shared with her boyfriend. 

According to police, an argument escalated after the suspect demanded the return of N$400 he had previously given to Sililo. The altercation turned violent, with Sililo found covered in blood at the scene.

Witnesses, including the suspect’s mother, reported that the suspect had chased Sililo around the shared yard, assaulting her with his fists. Despite the violence, no immediate report was made to authorities, even though the Cowboy Sub-Station is located less than 100 meters from the scene.

The suspect, a 38-year-old man, fled the scene and was on the run until police apprehended him this afternoon. He has since been hospitalized after attempting suicide by throwing himself in front of an oncoming vehicle.

This incident marks the second domestic murder in the region within a week. Just days ago, a 26-year-old man allegedly killed his 32-year-old girlfriend in Kazauli Village before taking his own life.

Police investigations are ongoing.
