DNA tests have confirmed that the remains found in Lake Guinas last week are those of O'Linn Nauyoma, a learner who disappeared in the lake during a school excursion.
His father, Cornelius Nauyoma, says they can now bury their son's remains.
After sleepless nights for the past four months, the confirmation of the remains brings a painful conclusion to Nauyoma's family.
Although the family wants to bury the remains on Saturday, Nauyoma says they still have to wait on the Education, Arts, and Culture Ministry.
16-year-old Nauyoma drowned last year in September in Lake Guinas while attending a school camp.
He was a grade 10 learner at Etosha Secondary School in Tsumeb.
An official investigation into the principal and teachers that were present at the incident is being carried out.
Meanwhile, the Ministry pledged to contribute towards O'Linn Nauyoma's tombstone.
