Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma's legacy should be kept alive through storytelling and the preservation of culture.

These sentiments were shared by two veterans of the local creative industry during the Founding President's remembrance interviews with the nbc.

Expanding on the quote by the Founding President, "A nation rooted in culture and tradition will always grow and unite," Vickson Hangula and Armas Shivute believe that the Founding President was a storyteller and passionate about the country's history.

Therefore, it is up to Namibian filmmakers to tell their own stories and pass them on to the next generation.

Hangula further explained that the film about Nujoma, Where Others Wavered, which was released in 2007, needs to be cut into a series.

This is because there is still a lot that needs to be told.

The filmmakers also spoke about the potential of the industry and its need for commercialisation.

They pinned their hope on President-elect Netumbo-Nandi Ndaitwah, who highlighted youth, sport, and film as one of the focus areas during her tenure.
