Representatives from Adventist World Radio (AWR) Namibia and the Namibia North Conference (NNC) of the Seventh-day Adventist Church paid courtesy visits to the Office of the Zambezi Regional Governor and the Katima Mulilo Town Council to introduce the community radio services to the Local leadership. 

AWR-Zambezi is a community radio station aimed at delivering local news, educational programmes and faith-based content that promotes community development and social transformation.

AWR Namibia Country Director Annette Mabuku explained that the radio's role is not merely to promote the Gospel but to also address the needs of the community. 

"As a radio station that is operating and that was established under section 21, we are also required to fulfil the needs of the community; we are a community radio station apart from being a religious radio station."

During the visit, Zambezi Governor Dorothy Kabula recalled the church's humanitarian response during this year's floods, commending its commitment to serving the community.

"This year when we had these floods, your church came and also contributed to the flood victims under ADRA, so we cannot forget that. So having you in the region, I think, is quite a very good initiative."

Katima Mulilo Mayor and Kabende Kabende commended the Seventh-day Adventist Church for its continued outreach and contribution to community development in the region. He added that radio remains one of the most effective platforms for reaching people with timely and relevant information.
